THE STAT LINE: Briones had a game-high 24 points, including five 3-pointers, and six rebounds in the Monarchs' 57-47 victory over San Lorenzo in the North Coast Section Division II quarterfinals. Briones also had 17 points, including two free throws to tie the game at 49 with 51 seconds remaining, in a 51-49 first-round win over Alameda.

POSITION: Goalkeeper
THE STAT LINE: Jimenez, a captain, posted four shutouts in the NCS Division II playoffs, leading the Minutemen to the school's first section title in boys soccer. Concord beat St. Mary's 1-0 in the semifinals and Campolindo 1-0 in the championship.

POSITION: Forward/midfielder
THE STAT LINE: Turner, who is headed to Stanford, played a strong game and scored the winning goal in the top-seeded Wolves' 1-0 victory over Monte Vista in the NCS I Division I title game. Turner also had an assist in a 3-0 win over Castro Valley in the semifinals.

YEAR: Sophomore
POSITION: Attacking midfielder
THE STAT LINE: Zuniga scored the eventual winning goal in the shootout against Piedmont to give the Dragons the NCS Division II championship. She also had two assists in O'Dowd's 5-0 victory over St. Mary's in the semifinals.

BOYS
NICOLAS LANG, Livermore, wrestling, Sr. -- Lang, the sixth seed at 145 pounds, upset the top three seeds in his division to claim an NCS title, including No. 1 Payton Russum of De La Salle 3-2 in overtime of the championship match.
JARED LUTY, American, wrestling, Fr. -- Luty capped an outstanding performance at the NCS championships with a 12-6 victory over highly-regarded Perez Perez of Windsor in the 106-pound final.
GIRLS
RACHAEL BUTLER, Foothill, wrestling, So. -- Butler placed fourth at the state wrestling championships in Lemoore to finish the year 20-5. She went 4-2 at the state meet, beating three section champions.
DESIRE FINNIE, Berkeley, basketball, Jr. -- Finnie had 18 points and seven rebounds in a 59-34 first-round victory over James Logan in the Division I playoffs and 14 points and 14 rebounds in a 50-45 win over Deer Valley in the quarterfinals.
