THE STAT LINE: McKinley won the 100 and 200 meters in the boys invitational session at the Sacramento Meet of Champions. He won the 100 in 10.77 seconds and his time in the 200 (21.58) was the seventh-fastest in the state this season, according to PrepCalTrack.com.

Gabriella Cantrell

SCHOOL: San Leandro

SPORT: Track and field

YEAR: Junior

EVENTS: 100, 200 meters

THE STAT LINE: Cantrell won the 100 and 200 meters in the girls invitational session at the Sacramento Meet of Champions. Her time in the 100 (11.76) was third-best in the state, according to PrepCalTrack.com. She won the 200 in 24.17.

Madison Williams

SCHOOL: Freedom

SPORT: Softball

YEAR: Senior

POSITION: Pitcher

THE STAT LINE: Williams led the Falcons to wins over Heritage (13-4) and Liberty (7-0). In the two wins, she allowed just two earned runs and had 19 strikeouts and two walks. She was 2 for 7 with an RBI.

BOYS

BRYAN CMELAK, Moreau Catholic, baseball, Jr. -- Cmelak did not allow a hit through 52/3 innings and finished with a one-hitter in a 2-0 victory over Kennedy-Fremont.

FRANK KURTZ, Heritage, track and field, Jr. -- Kurtz broke a 16-year-old meet record in the boys 400 meters at the Sacramento Meet of Champions on April 27 at American River College, finishing in 47.03 seconds.

GIRLS

MICHAELA BURPEE, James Logan, softball, So. -- Burpee hit a three-run homer in a four-run first inning that helped propel the Colts to a 6-4 win over Newark Memorial. She was also 3 for 4 with a run and an RBI in a 6-0 win over American, and 2 for 3 with two runs and two RBIs in a 14-0 victory over Mission San Jose.

KIRSTEN MORK, Granada, track and field, Jr. -- Mork leaped 5-foot-8 to place first in the high jump in the Invitational Division at the Sacramento Meet of Champions on April 27.
