CLOVIS -- Castro Valley High athletes won a pair of state titles within minutes of each other at the California Interscholastic Federation state track and field championships Saturday at Buchanan High.

First, Castro Valley's Sasha Wallace defended her girls triple jump title. Her mark of 41 feet, 9½ inches on her first attempt was the best in the competition by more than a foot.

Then Castro Valley's Nate Moore won the boys long jump title with a wind-legal leap of 24-11¾. He took the lead on his fifth attempt.
