GABRIELLA CANTRELL, San Leandro, 100 meters, 200, Jr. -- Cantrell dominated both her events at the North Coast Section Meet of Champions, winning by .22 in the 100 and .41 in the 200. At the state championships, she placed third in the finals of both events with times of 11.67 and 23.79 in the 100 and 200, respectively.

CHRISTINA CHENAULT, Carondelet, 400 meters, So. -- Chenault won the NCS MOC title with a time of 55.75, and had the top NCS time in the event at the state championship trials (55.98).

ARIEL CHENG, Mission San Jose, pole vault, Sr. -- The UC Irvine-bound Cheng set a NCS MOC record in her event with a mark of 12-10. She also tied for sixth in the state championship finals (12-0).

MARYANN GONG, Granada, 1,600 meters, Sr. -- The MIT-bound Gong improved her time in each of her final three races to make the state championship finals. After winning the NCS MOC title in 5:02.87, she was the 12th qualifier in the state trials (4:55.48) and placed eighth in the finals (4:55.04).

MORGAN JONES, James Logan, shot put, So. -- Jones won the NCS MOC title with a personal-record mark of 40 feet, 1/4 inch, the best mark in the section in the last two months, according to PrepCalTrack.com. She also was first at the NCS Bay Shore Area Championships.

NIJAE JONES, San Leandro, 800 meters, Sr. -- The Cal-bound Jones ran an impressive race to place second in the event at the state championship final with a personal-record 2:09.91. She also won the NCS MOC title.

JENNIFER KURTZ, California, high jump, Fr. -- Kurtz peaked well in the postseason, as she was the top East Bay finisher at the NCS MOC (second, 5-6) and had the top East Bay mark in the event at the state championship trials (5-3 3/4).

TYRA LASSAIR, Pittsburg, discus, Jr. -- Lassair had the best East Bay girls discus mark at the state trials (130-9), which was also the top East Bay girls mark this season, according to PrepCalTrack.com. Lassair placed third in the event (122-1) at the NCS MOC.

BRIGHIE LEACH, Campolindo, 3,200 meters, So. -- Leach won the NCS MOC title in a personal-record 10:41.45. She also was the top NCS finisher in the event at the state championships (14th, 10:47.56).

CARLY SCHULZ, St. Mary's, 300 hurdles, Jr. -- Schulz won the NCS MOC title with a time of 44.45 seconds and also had the top NCS time in the event at the state championship trials (43.94).

SASHA WALLACE, Castro Valley, 100 hurdles, triple jump, long jump, Sr. -- Wallace successfully defended her state championship titles in the 100 hurdles and triple jump, and placed sixth in the long jump at state. She won all three events at the NCS MOC.
