YEAR: Senior

THE STAT LINE: Hurlock won the East Bay Athletic League center meet and broke a course record in the process. He completed the 3-mile race at Newhall Park in 14:59, becoming the first runner to break 15 minutes on the course. His effort led the Spartans to a team win in the race.

Gabe Watson

SCHOOL: Piedmont

SPORT: Football

YEAR: Sophomore

POSITION: Running back

THE STAT LINE: Watson rushed for 183 yards and four touchdowns, his last with 1:03 left, in a 35-27 West Alameda County Conference-Shoreline Division victory over Alameda. His touchdown runs were 63, 8, 2 and 40 yards.

Belinda Hu

SCHOOL: Dougherty Valley

SPORT: Golf

YEAR: Freshman

THE STAT LINE: Hu carded a 1-under 71 at Diablo Creek Golf Course to earn medalist honors at the Diablo Foothill Athletic League tournament, leading the Wildcats to the team championship. Hu, who prevailed by three shots, and the Wildcats earned an automatic berth in Monday's North Coast Section Division I Tournament of Champions.

Melissa Yao

SCHOOL: Alameda

SPORT: Golf

YEAR: Junior

THE STAT LINE: Yao won the WACC championship individual title, shooting a 1-over 72 at Chuck Corica Golf Complex's Jack Clark South Course. She had 14 pars and two birdies in the round.

BOYS

CASEY HARRINGTON, Acalanes, football, Jr. -- The Dons' quarterback completed 24 of 30 passes for 369 yards and four touchdowns in a 42-28 DFAL victory over Dougherty Valley.

RAMIAH MARSHALL, San Lorenzo, football, Jr. -- Marshall scored touchdowns on all three of his catches in the Rebels' 52-34 WACC-Shoreline Division victory over Mt. Eden. He reached the end zone on a 30-yard reception in the first quarter, a 15-yard catch in the second quarter and a 26-yard grab in the third quarter, the eventual winning score. He also had six tackles and had a 45-yard punt return on special teams.

GIRLS

NI'YESHA BROWN, Newark Memorial, volleyball, Sr. -- Brown had 18 kills, 25 digs and three aces in a 25-23, 20-25, 25-23, 25-22 Mission Valley Athletic League victory over James Logan. She also had 12 kills, 16 digs and three aces in a 25-21, 25-18, 25-21 win over American.

SABBY VIRTUSIO, Carondelet, golf, Jr. -- Virtusio earned medalist honors at the EBAL championships, firing a 1-over 73 at the Las Positas Golf Course to win by two strokes. Her strong round helped Carondelet claim the team championship by four strokes over Monte Vista.
