THE STAT LINE: Haynes had a career day in his final high school game, rushing for 372 yards and five touchdowns on 40 carries in the North Coast Section Division II quarterfinals, a 66-48 loss to Miramonte.

Adarius Pickett

SCHOOL: El Cerrito

SPORT: Football

YEAR: Senior

POSITION: Cornerback/tailback

THE STAT LINE: The UCLA-bound Pickett produced 219 yards of total offense and four touchdowns in the Gauchos' 45-2 victory over Novato in a NCS Division III quarterfinal game. Pickett caught four passes for 133 yards, including touchdown grabs of 16 and 65 yards, and rushed for a game-high 86 yards and touchdowns of 1 and 22 yards. He also had an interception in the first quarter and three solo tackles in the game.

Christine Bayliss

SCHOOL: San Ramon Valley

SPORT: Cross Country

YEAR: Junior

THE STAT LINE: Bayliss won the 3.0-mile NCS Division I girls championship race at Hayward High with a time of 17 minutes, 30 seconds, which is tied for second all-time in NCS Division I girls championship races on the course. Bayliss made a move on the final hill to win by six seconds after crossing the two-mile mark in 11:43.

Emma Doud

SCHOOL: St. Joseph Notre Dame

SPORT: Volleyball

YEAR: Sophomore

POSITION: Outside hitter

THE STAT LINE: Doud had 14 kills in the Pilots' 25-13, 25-15, 25-17 victory over University-San Francisco in the NCS Division V playoff semifinals, then had seven kills, six digs and four aces in a 25-13, 25-22, 21-25, 25-17 loss to Branson in the championship match.

BOYS

KESOMI MAFI, Oakland, football, Sr. -- Mafi rushed for 87 yards and two touchdowns, which were the final two scores of the game, and also completed 10 of his 16 passes for 128 yards as the Wildcats beat Skyline 24-6 in an Oakland Section semifinal game to advance to their first Silver Bowl in 19 years.

VINCE VOLPATTI, Valley Christian, football, Sr. -- The Vikings advanced to their first championship game in school history after Volpatti rushed for 188 yards and two touchdowns in a 34-6 win over Ferndale in the NCS Division V semifinals.

GIRLS

HADIYAH OWENS, Oakland Tech, basketball, Jr. -- The 6-foot forward had a team-high 18 points, 11 rebounds and three blocks in the Bulldogs' 56-48 nonleague victory over Pinole Valley.

KELLEY WIRTH, Campolindo, volleyball, Jr. -- Wirth, an outside hitter, had a combined 48 kills in two NCS Division III matches. She had 22 kills, eight digs, four blocks and two aces in a five-set victory over Albany in the semifinals, then had 26 kills as the Cougars fell to Bishop O'Dowd in five sets in the championship.
