FREMONT -- James Logan High wrestler Jacob Macalolooy put himself in rare company with his performance at the Mission Valley Athletic League championships on Saturday at Kennedy-Fremont.

Macalolooy won his fourth straight MVAL crown after he claimed the 138-pound title, making him just the fourth grappler in league history to achieve the feat. He joins Victor Pereira (Newark Memorial, 2009-2012), Kirk Fitzpatrick (Logan, 1999-2002) and Mark Trice (1985-1988) as the only four-time winners in the league.

In the finals, Macalolooy was pushed to the limit, but prevailed with a 5-3 decision over John Andrade of Irvington.

"It feels pretty cool to join a group like this," Macalolooy said. "After I won it my freshman year I knew I had a pretty good shot at reaching that goal."

Macalolooy will now look to defend is crown in the North Coast Section championships, which begin on Friday at Newark Memorial High.

Logan's Clayton Hartwell and Jacob Donato both won their third straight MVAL titles as well. Hartwell, who is ranked No. 4 at 195 pounds according to The California Wrestler, disposed of Tim Tuite (Newark Memorial) with a fall in 53 seconds. Donato (120) won by a major-decision over Eric Yang of Mission San Jose.

American sophomore Jared Luty won his second league title after winning the 113-pound title. Luty, who won the NCS title at 106 pounds a year ago, has set some lofty goals for the postseason.

"I not only want to win another NCS title, but I want go and win the state title as well," he said.

Logan had seven league champions to easily win the team title with 240 points. Raymond Monela (106), Felix Bonavente (132), Zack Wally (182) and Jose Zamora (285) also won league titles for the Colts.
