De La Salle High football star Kahlil McKenzie announced Tuesday via Twitter that he will announce his college decision on July 10 and it will be between Tennessee and Arizona. McKenzie, who is ranked as a five-star defensive tackle by Scout.com, is scheduled to be at The Opening in Beaverton, Oregon on that day.
"I want to thank all the coaches that have recruited me and given me a chance to get an education and play football at their universities. It's been a blessing and a honor to get to build relationships with so many coaches and players." McKenzie wrote. "...With that being said I will be shutting down my recruiting early."
The 6-foot-4, 330-pound McKenzie, who is ranked third at his position nationally by Scout.com, had 12 sacks and 74 tackles in 13 games last season. He is the son of Oakland Raiders General Manager Reggie McKenzie.
