Mustangs' Corbett closes with rush
This time last year, senior Ryan Corbett wasn't even on Monte Vista High School's varsity golf team.Instead, Corbett was a junior varsity player and had to experience the Mustangs' state tournament run through secondhand information from his varsity teammates.

California falls shy of winning NCS boys volleyball title
The California High School gym was like a dam; and the amount of College Park emotion and energy it was trying to contain was overwhelming. Then, in one fell swoop, the dam broke and a flood of tears and cheers ensued as John Zubkousky's kill hit the floor, delivering the Falcons (28-9) their

    Third time's a charm for Amador Valley
    DUBLIN -- When Amador Valley High School girls lacrosse coach Karen Church took over the program four years ago, she had visions. Not only did she see the Dons turning into a North Coast Section power, but she also saw the potential for the sport to grow in popularity.

    Union City National wins District 45 championship.
    Servando Cardenas had eight strikeouts in four innings as Union City National defeated Treeview to win the District 45 All-Stars 9-10 year olds championship.

    Boyd seizes day in state finals
    Moreau Catholic junior Alitta Boyd seized the moment Saturday at Cerritos College in front of 10,712 spectators, taking second in the triple jump and third in long jump at the state track meet.  

     

    Swimming

    A look at the heat sheets revealed that the Alameda Contra Costa Athletic League swimming championships would come down to Alameda and Berkeley high schools for the team titles.
