OAKLAND -- Police have released the name of a man killed outside his home in East Oakland, but an arrest has not been made.

The man who was shot and killed in the 2000 block of 99th Avenue about 1:25 p.m. on Aug. 22 has been identified by police as Jose Moreno-Garcia, 18, of Oakland. He died at the trauma center at Highland Hospital in Oakland later that same day.

A 16-year-old boy with Moreno-Garcia was shot at but not hit.

As of Thursday night, police had not named a suspect or motive in the slaying.

The killing was the 67th in Oakland this year.
