OAKLAND -- The names of three people fatally shot Friday night and Saturday in different parts of Oakland were released by police Tuesday.
A 20-year-old Hayward man fatally shot outside a liquor store in the 5700 block of Foothill Boulevard about 9:39 p.m. Saturday was identified as Elijah Jones-Martin. He had just left the store when he was shot and died later at a hospital. He may have been in Oakland visiting friends. Police don't have a motive and no arrests have been made.
A 21-year-old woman shot about 1:30 a.m. Saturday on Broadway near 14th Street was identified as Corrin Ray, who had addresses in Pittsburg and Richmond. She died at a hospital. Two other people, a 21-year-old San Leandro man and his girlfriend, a 20-year-old Oakland woman, were wounded.
Police said the couple who survived the attack had gotten into an argument with a man on the sidewalk. The man pulled a gun and began shooting, hitting them and killing Ray, who police said was an innocent bystander. No arrests have been made.
A 19-year-old man killed about 8:24 p.m. Friday in the 2900 block of 106th Avenue was identified as Phillip Montenegro, of Oakland. He died at the scene. A 19-year-old man with him was wounded but will recover.
Police said the two live in other parts of Oakland and had gone to 106th Avenue possibly to meet someone. No arrests have been made.
