ANTIOCH -- A 24-year-old Pittsburg man has been arrested on suspicion of murder for killing another man in a bowling alley bar fight Friday night, police said Saturday.

The name of the suspect was not released.

Police said he surrendered to the Antioch Police Department on Saturday and was arrested and booked at the county jail in Martinez on suspicion of murder without bail.

Police have not said what prompted the fight shortly after 6 p.m. in the bar at Delta Bowl, 3300 Delta Fair Blvd. in Antioch.

When officers arrived, they found an unresponsive 41-year-old Kelvin Smith of Vallejo suffering from unspecified injuries.

The Contra Costa County Coroner has yet to perform an autopsy to determine Smith's cause of death.

Smith was transported to an area hospital where he was later pronounced dead, police said.

This is Antioch's 13th homicide of the year.

Anyone with information about the case can call Antioch police Detective James Stenger at 925-779-6894.
