Lola is the MUSH Pet of the Week for Sept. 26.

MUSH

Lola is a large 18-month-old red and white malamute. She is loving and affectionate, knows some commands, is housebroken and loves to be brushed. She was surrendered to the shelter because she didn't get along with another large female. Lola can be a bit aggressive when it comes to food, but would love to go to a home with an owner who will devote their time to her. She would be a good companion for hiking to lying around watching TV. Email spiritofashadow@aol.com, call MUSH (Malamutes Unwanted Seeking Homes) at 800-399-8155 or visit www.ncama.org and click on "rescue."

PUG RESCUE

Dirty Harry is a neutered, healthy 5-7 year-old pug who gets along great with cats and some dogs. He likes to sleep very soundly (snoring) in the laundry basket with a pillow. He does not do well in the heat, so would be best in a home with air conditioning, and with an owner who will not leave him outside or go for walks in warm/hot weather. He likes car rides, is playful and loves people. He is up-to-date on shots and heartworm negative, but will need some housebreaking reinforcement. Pug Rescue adoptions are 11 a.m.-1 p.m. the third Sunday of the month, at Pet Food Express, Oak Grove and Treat Boulevard.
