    The following excerpts are from the Moraga police log:

    Wednesday, Jan. 1

  • road rage: Two drivers had a confrontation on Moraga Road starting at St. Marys Road in Lafayette and ending on Canyon Road near Larch Avenue. One driver reported that the other brandished a black automatic handgun from his rear seat. The driver of the second vehicle was contacted and he maintained that he had been holding a black iPhone 4 in his hand, not a firearm. The incident is under investigation.

  • stolen vehicle: A red Honda XR80 dirt bike was stolen out of the bed of a red 1989 Toyota pickup while it was parked in the 100 block of Ascot Court.

    Saturday, Jan. 4

  • grand theft: Officers detained several subjects who had been ejected from a party in the 3900 block of Paseo Grande. One of the residents accused the subjects of stealing a laptop computer from inside the residence, but a search of the subjects and their vehicle did not uncover any stolen property.

  • petty theft: An iPhone 5s valued at $500 and a black leather wallet valued at $75 were stolen from an unsecured vehicle while it was parked at Campolindo High School pool.
