    Moraga

    The following excerpts were taken from the Moraga police log:

    Tuesday, April 8

  • commercial burglary: Officers detained a woman suspected of stealing from a store in the 500 block of Moraga Road. A second woman left on foot and was found in a nearby pharmacy bathroom. She was identified as being suspected of having committed multiple thefts at the same store within a two-week period. Three juveniles accompanied the women. They were arrested for burglary, conspiracy, receiving stolen property, child endangerment and probation violation, and on two outstanding warrants.

    Wednesday, April 9

  • attempted vehicle THEFT: Someone broke into a 2000 Ford Ranger pickup while it was parked on Alta Mesa near Paseo Bernal. The passenger door lock and ignition were damaged.

  • petty theft: A men's mountain bike was taken from an exterior wall near the front door of Safeway on Moraga Way. The bicycle was valued at $550.

    Thursday, April 10

  • vandalism/graffiti: Graffiti was spray painted on the exterior of a building at Campolindo High School on Moraga Road. Cleanup costas are estimated to be $3,000. Similar incidents were reported at other local high schools.

  • grand theft: Money and jewelry went missing from a residence in the 1300 block of Camino Peral. A temporary caregiver was the only person in the house besides the residents. The caregiver was supposed to meet their employer at the residence; they never showed up and stopped answering their cell phone.

    Saturday, April 12

  • VANDALISM: Officers responded to a report of 20 juveniles vandalizing cars in a shopping center parking lot in the 400 block of Center Street. Local business employees reported being assaulted by a group of approximately seven male teenagers, who also broke out the front window of a restaurant. Officers spotted a group of juveniles behind the shopping center, who ran from police. One juvenile was detained by police and eventually arrested for resisting arrest, possession of alcohol, drunk in public and possession of less than an ounce of marijuana. Other suspects remain unidentified.
