Tucker is the Contra Costa Humane Society's Pet of the Week for July 4.

HUMANE SOCIETY

Tucker is a 2-year-old American Bulldog mix who loves everyone he meets, including children, and does well with other respectful dogs. He would also be happy to be his new owner's one and only, too. Tucker is neutered, microchipped and vaccinated and looking for a loving home. For more information, visit www.cchumane.org and like them at Facebook.com/Contra Costa Humane Society.

SLED DOG RESCUE

Booth is a sweet, friendly 4-to 5-year-old purebred Siberian husky. At one point, Booth was taken to a vet with the request he be euthanized because he had too many foxtails which had been embedded for too long. A kind and compassionate vet asked his former owners for 24 hours to see if she could save him and reached out to NorSled.

Twenty-four foxtails were removed from Booth, and he is now doing well and his fur is growing back. Someone who can see beyond the bald spots will be very fortunate to gain him as a friend. Booth is a little picky about his canine companions. Visit www.norsled.org.
