Acalanes grad wins film award
Acalanes High School graduate Valery Jorgenson has won two awards of merit as part of a team of Pacific Lutheran University students who created the 2013 documentary film "Tapped Out: Unearthing the Global Water Crisis."

The film explores water-related issues across North America and premiered in Seattle in October. It won two Awards of Merit from The Accolade Competition, an Southern California- based international film awards competition that recognizes film, television, new media and videography.
The film nabbed awards in the "short documentary" and "use of film/video for social change" categories.
