Valley Humane Society
Joey is a 2-year-old male brown tabby with lots of love to give. He was rescued in August from a local county shelter. On the ride from the shelter to Valley Humane Society, he jumped out of his kennel and rode shotgun with the driver, enjoying the scenery. Recently, he had an accident at Valley Humane and broke his leg. We hoped it could be fixed but the damage was too severe and his leg was amputated. Fortunately, Joey gets along just fine with three legs. Valley Humane Society is at 3670 Nevada St., Pleasanton. Hours are 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Tuesday and Wednesday, noon to 7 p.m. Thursday and Friday, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday and noon to 4 p.m. Sunday. For details, call 925-426-8656 or visit www.valleyhumane.org or www.facebook.com/ValleyHumaneSociety.

Sled Dog Rescue
Roscoe is a 2- to 3-year-old charming guy, weighing about 50 pounds, with longish wavy fur. He will roll over on his back for a tummy rub at the mere mention. He is very submissive -- all he wants is to be loved. The rescue group believes a loving owner would have a keeper with Roscoe. For more information, email email@example.com or call 800-471-5822.
