LIVERMORE -- A Livermore man was arrested Wednesday on suspicion of sexually assaulting a child, and police believe he may have victimized other minors in the community, authorities said.

Joshua Isaiah Rojas, 28, was arrested Wednesday evening on charges of lewd and lascivious acts with a child under age 14, after an investigation in March into the alleged sexual assault, Officer Steve Goard said. Police would not specify the relationship between Rojas and his victim, but said that the two knew each other. The assault took place at Rojas' home during the month of March, police said.

Rojas was arrested without incident and taken to Santa Rita Jail in Dublin, Goard said.

Rojas, who has lived in the 1000 block of Bellflower Street his entire life, spends much of his time at home in the Springtown neighborhood where numerous children reside, Goard said. Police believe there may be more victims and are asking parents to talk to their children about potential contact with Rojas.

Anyone with information about the case may call the Livermore Police Department at 925-371-4700 and has the option of remaining anonymous.
