A new Alameda County app lets residents use their smartphones to report potholes, graffiti, illegal dumping or other problems in the unincorporated areas.

The free app, called MOBILE CITIZEN, lets users take a photo and submit it directly to the county's public works agency. The app's GPS will map the location. It can be downloaded for Androids and iPhones.

"We are always looking for ways to improve our service delivery," said Daniel Woldesenbet, public works agency director.

The app can be downloaded for Androids and iPhones at Goggle Play and iTunes.

Residents can continue to submit requests for service or report a problem at e-noticeMaintenance@acpwa.org or 510-670-5500.
