Nicole Hohenstein and Janette Danielson, both of Pleasant Hill, were honored at a January brunch for achieving Girl Scouting's highest award: the Gold Award. Nicole's service project benefitted Pleasant Hill's Community Service Day and Rodgers Ranch; while Jeanette donated service to Tony La Russa's Animal Rescue Foundation and the Fair Oaks Elementary CARES after-school program. At the brunch in San Ramon, sponsored by Girl Scout Alumnae of Northern California, San Francisco Bay Area Chapter, the 17-year-olds took a moment to catch up on the community news in the Pleasant Hill/Martinez Record.
It doesn't matter if your time away is spent across San Francisco Bay or across the country -- remember to pack the Record to keep up with news of the community, and then show your neighbors where you have been.
