Logan Kummer, 17, the son of Larry and Becky Kummer, has earned the rank of Eagle Scout, which is scheduled to be presented in Court of Honor ceremonies July 29, at the Hope Center in Pleasant Hill.
He is a member of Boy Scout Troop 277, under the leadership of Scoutmaster Don Hinton.
For his Eagle Scout community service project, Kummer, along with other members of Troop 277, removed 1,500 feet of barbed wire fencing from Mt. Diablo State Park. He has worked with the Mt. Diablo Interpretive Association to remove the fencing that was left from Mount Diablo's cattle ranching days.
During his Scouting career, Kummer earned 34 merit badges, spent 100 nights camping, hiked 365 miles and contributed 200 service hours. He was also a troop guide, patrol leader, assistant senior patrol leader, librarian and Order of the Arrow representative.
Kummer, of Martinez, will be attending Diablo Valley College in Pleasant Hill in the fall.
