At the fifth annual Beaver Festival in Martinez on Aug. 4, visitors were treated to "The Beaver Ballad" top, by Mark Comstock and Friends while the Beaverettes -- wearing beaver tails -- dance to the song. Sarah Shevchento, 8, of Martinez, left, believes a huge inflatable beaver at the festival would like a drink of water, while others, right, who came to Beaver Park at Marina Vista and Alhambra Avenue check out informational booths about the beavers, wildlife and conservation. All were looking for a glimpse of the beaver family in Alhambra Creek, including the new kit spotted recently.
