Back to school nights continue at campuses

Back to school nights are continuing at elementary, middle and high schools throughout the Mt. Diablo Unified School District over the next few weeks, according to the school district website.

Some schools have already held their back-to-school nights. The remaining schools are:

Elementary schedule:

  • Bel Air -- Starts at 5:30 p.m. Sept. 11, with different times for each grade

  • El Monte -- 7 to 8 p.m. Sept. 11

  • Fair Oaks -- 6 p.m. Sept. 11

  • Highlands -- Sept. 6 at 6 p.m. for kindergarten; 6:30 p.m. PTA; and 7 to 7:30 p.m. for grades 4-5

  • Meadow Homes -- 6 to 7 p.m. Sept. 19, for grades K-2; and 7 to 8 p.m. for grades 3-5

  • Pleasant Hill -- 6:30 p.m. Sept. 13, for grade K in the multiuse room; and 7 to 8 p.m. all classes

  • Sequoia -- 6:50 to 8:30 p.m. Sept. 13

  • Silverwood -- 6 to 7 p.m. Sept. 11

  • Sun Terrace -- 5:30 to 7 p.m. Oct. 2

  • Valhalla -- 6:45 to 8 p.m. Sept. 6, for grades 3-5

  • Walnut Acres -- 5:45 p.m. Sept. 6, for grade 4 and grade 1 at 6:45 p.m.; and on Sept. 13, grade 2 at 5:45 p.m. and kindergarten at 6:45 p.m.

  • Woodside -- 6:45 p.m. Sept. 11, for grades K-2; general meeting

  • Valley View -- 6 to 7 p.m. Sept. 12

  • Concord -- 6:30 p.m. Sept. 27

  • College Park -- 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Sept. 20

  • Mt. Diablo -- 7 p.m. Sept. 20

  • Northgate -- 7 p.m. Sept. 20

  • Ygnacio Valley -- 7 to 9 p.m. Sept. 13

  • Olympic -- 6:30 p.m. Sept. 20

    Families sought to host exchange students

    Host families are needed for incoming foreign exchange high school students. Students are 15-18 years old, are English-speaking, have their own spending money and carry health insurance. Families can consist of a single parent, a childless couple or a retired couple.
