The following excerpts are from the Martinez police log:
THURSDAY, MARCH 21 GRAND THEFT -- At 1:59 a.m., a caller on Marina Vista reported than a man was stealing railroad ties and putting them in the bed of a truck. BURGLARY -- A business on Alhambra Avenue was reported burglarized at 6:22 a.m. A safe box was missing. FRAUD -- At 9:14 a.m., a caller reported receiving a call from an Arnold Drive business that a check deposited via an iPhone months prior had bounced. FRAUD -- It was reported at 12:45 p.m. that a credit card theft occurred on Henrietta Street and the card was used at a business. PETTY THEFT -- A theft of $79 was reported at a business on Arnold Drive at 1:50 p.m., and a person was in custody. BURGLARY -- On Lake Ridge Drive, a caller reported a burglary at 3:08 p.m. BURGLARY -- On Center Avenue, a vehicle was reported burglarized at 4:06 p.m. at a business. It was unknown if anything was missing. FRAUD -- At 5:45 p.m., unauthorized use of personal identification information was reported on Lassen Drive. BURGLARY -- It was reported at 7:55 p.m. that a television, DVDs and miscellaneous home furnishing were stolen from a residence on Pacheco Boulevard. There was no sign of forced entry.
FRIDAY, MARCH 22 BURGLARY -- A vehicle burglary was reported at 5:40 a.m. on Oakwood Circle. VANDALISM -- Graffiti was reported at the skate park on Marina Vista at 8:48 a.m. BURGLARY -- It was reported at 7:34 p.m. that the window of a truck was broken and the entry was made through a camper shell on Escobar Street. A stroller and diaper bag were stolen.
SATURDAY, MARCH 23 BURGLARY -- At 12:12 p.m., a caller reported seeing a woman crawl through a hole in a fence and then enter a residence on Phylis Terrace through a window. She opened the door and then let three men inside. FRAUD -- It was reported at 1:06 p.m. that an employee at a business on Arnold Drive had a wallet stolen. PETTY THEFT -- A bike was stolen from a residence on Pine Street and was put in a truck at 3:20 p.m.
SUNDAY, MARCH 24 MISCELLANEOUS DISTURBANCE -- At 12:58 p.m., a 29-year-old passenger at Amtrak on Marina Vista refused to pay the fare or leave the train. The man was arrested on suspicion of possession of a controlled substance. VEHICLE THEFT -- A stolen vehicle was reported at 1:44 p.m. on Marina Vista.
MONDAY, MARCH 25 FRAUD -- A caller on Alhambra Avenue reported at 8:57 a.m. being a victim of identity fraud. FRAUD -- It was reported at 9:41 a.m. that a 33-year-old woman and a 30-year-old woman were arrested on suspicion of theft, after an attempt to cash a $3,500 fraudulent check on Ferry Street. HIT-AND-RUN -- A hit-and-run was reported at 2:11 p.m. at Ward and Pine streets. GRAND THEFT -- It was reported at 3:01 p.m. that a soda machine at a laundromat on Alhambra Avenue was broken into and $1,100 was stolen. BURGLARY -- At 3:45 p.m., a caller reported that two men were seen burglarizing a storage shed on Alhambra Avenue. A chain saw and gasoline can were stolen and personal documents were riffled through. PETTY THEFT -- A caller on Elmquist Court reported at 3:59 p.m. that a custom piece of wrought iron was stolen. GRAND THEFT -- It was reported at 4:38 p.m. that a piece of jewelry worth $2,000 was stolen on Heavenly Drive. VANDALISM -- At 4:56 p.m., a vehicle on Alhambra Avenue was reported keyed. HIT-AND-RUN -- A caller reported at 6:33 p.m. that a vehicle parked on Marina Vista was hit on the passenger side.
TUESDAY, MARCH 26 FRAUD -- A caller on Valente Court reported at 8:20 a.m. that personal identification information was stolen and several accounts were fraudulently opened.
WEDNESDAY, MARCH 27 VANDALISM -- At 10:08 a.m., a caller reported damage to the center median at a high school on E Street. VANDALISM -- It was reported at 12:45 p.m. that a tenant on Richardson Street made several holes in the walls of the residence with a baseball bat. VEHICLE THEFT -- At 1:27 p.m., a vehicle was reported stolen at a business on Alhambra Avenue. PETTY THEFT -- It was reported at 1:44 p.m. that a man was seen running from a business on Arnold Drive with unpaid items. BURGLARY -- A caller reported a broken sliding glass door at a residence on Stonecreek Court at 1:45 p.m. A 31-year-old man was arrested in connection with a probation violation, and a 35-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of obstructing a peace officer and being under the influence.
