MARTINEZ -- Contra Costa County fire crews knocked down a grass fire Monday afternoon that burned a small area of vegetation off westbound Highway 4, officials said.
Crews responded to the one-alarm grass fire about 3:15 p.m., which began moving slowly up a slope near the McEwen Road exit, fire officials said. The blaze was knocked down at 3:30 p.m.
There were no reports of injuries or damage.
While the California Highway Patrol said that no lanes of Highway 4 were closed during the fire, motorists traveling through the area are advised to expect delays while cleanup is performed.
