MARTINEZ -- The Central Contra Costa Sanitary District Board on Thursday could decide the fate of a proposed sustainable farm on district-owned property near its treatment plant.
Trustees will consider four options; three recommended by the board's Enterprise Committee and one recommended by district staff.
Staff recommends forming an ad hoc committee to negotiate a lease with the farm.
The committee recommends pursuing a lease agreement for 10 acres, with the condition that 5 acres could be vacated with 60 days' notice. It also recommends pursuing proposals for other uses on the remaining property and a land use permit for the entire property.
The meeting is at 2 p.m. in the board room at 5019 Imhoff Place in Martinez. More information is available by calling 925-228-9500 or visiting www.centralsan.org. Click on "Board of Directors," then "Agendas." Select Oct. 3.
