Animal ambassadors

Children attending the Summer Reading Festival watch intently as Michelle Durant with Wildlife Associates -- a nonprofit education organization -- feeds a raccoon and shows off a lynx, inset, at a presentation Monday at the Martinez Library. The animals in Wildlife Associates' programs act as animal ambassadors. They cannot be released back into the wild as they are not able to take care of themselves.
