monday, oct. 26

  • naked driver: 4:13 p.m. — Magnolia and Highland avenues. A caller reported that his daughter said she saw a naked man sitting in an Acura-style vehicle about 7:40 a.m. parked across from the police department. The caller described the suspect as a white man in his 40s with gray and black hair. Police said they would step up patrols in the neighborhood as a result of the call.

  • suspicious solicitor: 7:01 p.m. — Blair Avenue. A woman reported that a solicitor knocked on her door, asking if she wanted to purchase seafood. The caller considered the man suspicious.

    tuesday, oct. 27

  • panic alarm: 1:30 a.m. — Moraga Avenue. Someone apparently set off a panic alarm, but officers dispatched to the residence noticed nothing suspicious. Neighbors also noticed nothing suspicious.

    wednesday, oct. 28

  • suspicious noises: 1:04 a.m. — Maxwelton Road and Moraga Avenue. The caller reported a loud popping noise that may have come from a transformer or downed wires. But police said they did notice anything unusual in the area.

    parked driver: 5:14 p.m. — Highland Avenue. Police received a report that a man was sitting in a car for the past three days.

    thursday, oct. 29

  • strange calls: 9:43 a.m. — LaSalle Avenue. A woman told police that she has been receiving "strange" phone calls. Police suggested that she contact her phone service provider to try to identify the caller.

  • stolen plants: 9:50 a.m. — Wildwood Avenue. A woman said someone stole three potted plants from her property about three weeks ago.

  • music man: 10:19 p.m. — Waldo Avenue. A man who was reported as suspicious because he had been spotted several times in the neighborhood, sitting in a car and working on a laptop, was a piano teacher working in the neighborhood, police said.

  • speedway: 11:50 p.m. — Trestle Glen. A man told police that two cars were speeding and chasing each other from Park Boulevard to Trestle Glen. The caller feared it may become a trend and police said they would tell patrol officers to be on the lookout for anything suspicious in the neighborhood.

    friday, oct. 30

  • wrong mail call: 1:34 p.m. — Portsmouth Road. A woman told police that a man was going through her mail, but nothing was apparently stolen. Police did not locate anyone suspicious in the neighborhood.

  • loud teens: 8 p.m. — Artuna Avenue. Police received a report of teenagers making noise.

  • fireworks: 10:55 p.m. — Magnolia Avenue. A caller reported fireworks, but officers dispatched to the neighborhood said all was quiet.

    saturday, oct. 31

  • abandoned car: 9:19 a.m. — Harvard Road. A black Cadillac was reported as abandoned in the neighborhood.

  • hit-and-run: 10:04 a.m. — Ronada Avenue. A woman reported that a motorist struck her parked vehicle sometime during the previous night and fled without leaving contact information.

  • drunk in public: 9:24 a.m. — Highland Avenue. Police arrested a juvenile for public intoxication after a caller reported a loud party in the neighborhood.

    sunday, nov. 1

  • cat rescue: 8:15 a.m. — Carmel Avenue. A woman initially reported that a cat was stuck on her neighbor's roof. After she was told that Animal Control was not available until 10 a.m., the woman called back to say that her husband had gotten the cat down.
