Smethers

Army PV1 Jon Blake Smethers has graduated from Basic Combat Training at Fort Knox, Ky.

During training, Smethers studied the Army mission and received instruction and training exercises in drill and ceremonies, Army history, core values and traditions, military justice, physical fitness, first aid, rifle marksmanship, weapons use, map reading and land navigation, armed and unarmed combat, and field maneuvers and tactics.

Smethers is the son of Jack and Laura Smethers of Oakley and a 2008 graduate of Liberty High School in Brentwood.

Smethers is now stationed at Aberdeen Proving Ground in Maryland for 13 weeks of additional training.
