The No. 1 lane of northbound Interstate Highway 680 in Solano County has been closed for cleanup Friday afternoon after two grass fires burned along the shoulder and center divider, a California Highway Patrol officer said.

One fire by the Marshview Road exit began in the center divider and jumped to the shoulder of northbound Highway 680.

Another fire, near Parish Road, also burned along the shoulder of northbound Highway 680, the officer said.

Cordelia Fire Protection District responded to both fires at about 3:45 p.m., district spokeswoman Patti Huyssoon said.

The fires were under control by around 4:15 p.m., Huyssoon said.

The lane, as well as the Marshview Road off-ramp, were closed to traffic just after 4 p.m. and no estimated time was available for when they would reopen, according to the CHP.

The CHP is advising drivers to use alternate routes.
