Postmaster asks aid in nabbing mailbox clouters: Post Master Richard Wallace has made an appeal to the city police for cooperation in discovering who is responsible for post office box clouting which had been occurring over a period of several months. It is believed to be the work of juveniles, as the boxes which are forced are in the lower tiers, easily reached by persons of short stature. Over the weekend two boxes were broken into and their contents removed. One of them belonged to a local business man, who found checks totaling nearly $2,000 in the street near his place of business. They had been torn and tossed away. Wallace declared that the practice must be broken up and is hopeful that police alertness may result in catching the perpetrators in the act. Severe punishment is prescribed for those found guilty of damaging government property or robbing the mail.
