This will be the inaugural Walnut Acres first- through fourth-grade presentation, and will be directed by Judy Ryken, Lee Oller and Joni Cote.

In another local student production, the Las Lomas High School fall play, the Michael Parker comedy "Whose Wives Are They Anyway," will be performed Nov. 8, 9, 10, 14, 15 and 16 at the Las Lomas Theatre.
In the play, two cosmetics company vice presidents go on a golfing weekend, but encounter their new boss, who insists on meeting the wives, stating "no one who went golfing for a weekend without his wife would ever work for me." The VPs try to cover for their missing wives.

Community Service Days at Tony La Russa's Animal Rescue Foundation are offered monthly to students in grades 6 through 12 to help achieve community service credits.
Projects include work to to benefit ARF's shelter animals, such as creating enrichment items for ARF animals, baking dog treats, landscaping and animal care cleaning tasks.

Northgate High School ninth-graders can still sign up for the school's Challenge Day, this year on Wednesday, Nov. 7.
Challenge Day's mission is to provide young people and their communities with experiential workshops and programs that demonstrate the possibility of love and connection, going beyond anti-bullying discussion to celebrate students' diversity, truth and full expression.
Students will be chosen by lottery to participate, and student selection will be posted late this month.
