LIVERMORE -- Ten people were arrested on gun and drug charges Wednesday after officers searched a drug den that gang members are known to frequent, police said.

Police had a search warrant for the home in the 1600 block of Chestnut Street, near North P Street, said Livermore Police Officer David Blake.

Livermore and Pleasanton SWAT members assisted with the search because guns were suspected to be in the home, Blake said.

Blake said several people fled during the 4:30 p.m. search, but police later detained 11 people and arrested 10 of them. Police recovered two guns, including one from a person who resisted officers during the search, Blake said.

Their names and ages were not released Wednesday night. Police also did not specify charges for each person. All remain at Santa Rita Jail in Dublin.

Police had to close several streets in the area for safety. Police were gone from the area by 7:15 p.m., Blake said.
