Minutemen cruise in NCS opener

Uaisele Manoa, pictured, and the Concord High football team had no trouble with Mt. Eden in its North Coast Section Division II playoff opener on Nov. 9. Manoa scored the first touchdown of the game as the Minutemen cruised to a 50-6 victory over the Monarchs. Concord running back Olito Thompson rushed for 200 yards and scored three touchdowns while quarterback Mitch Daniels threw for 234 yards and three scores. No. 5 seed Concord goes on the road for its quarterfinal game, facing No. 4 Casa Grande-Petaluma at 7 p.m. on Nov. 17.
