The curtain goes up at 7 p.m. Thursday and Friday, Nov. 16, for the Walnut Acres Children's Theatre production of Disney's "The Jungle Book" at Walnut Acres Elementary, 180 Cerezo Drive in Walnut Creek.
This will be the inaugural Walnut Acres first- through fourth-grade presentation, and will be directed by Judy Ryken, Lee Oller and Joni Cote.

The final two performances of the Las Lomas High School fall play, the Michael Parker comedy "Whose Wives Are They Anyway" are set for Thursday, Nov. 15, and Friday, Nov. 16 at the Las Lomas Theatre.

Community Service Days at Tony La Russa's Animal Rescue Foundation are offered monthly to students in grades 6 through 12 to help achieve community service credits.
Projects include work to to benefit ARF's shelter animals, such as creating enrichment items for ARF animals, baking dog treats, landscaping and animal care cleaning tasks.
