OAKLAND -- Two women were shot to death Sunday morning in East Oakland, police said.
Their names, ages and relationship were not immediately released.
They were found shot about 6 a.m. in the street in the 2600 block of Minna Avenue near Brookdale Avenue, and died later at a hospital, police said.
There is no indication they lived in the area of the shooting and police did not know what the women were doing there.
No motive was released and no arrests have been made, police said.
The two killings bring the total number of homicides in the city this year to 115, five more than all of 2011.
There were also two homicides on Saturday. One was 18-year-old Greysi Morales-Cordon, mother to a 3-year-old boy. She was shot to death on 28th Avenue in East Oakland.
The other was Aaron Marks, 19. He was fatally shot in the 5900 block of San Pablo Avenue in North Oakland.
Police and Crimestoppers of Oakland are offering up to $10,000 in reward money in the homicides. Anyone with information can call police at 510-238-3821 or a tip line at 510-773-2805.
