BERKELEY -- Two have been arrested in connection with a stabbing that happened near Noah's Bagels on Friday.

Around 2 p.m., Berkeley police responded to Martinez Commons, a UC Berkeley residence hall, for reports of a stabbing victim who had wandered into the courtyard.

The victim, a non-UC affiliated man, had traveled up to Channing Way from where he was stabbed at the Noah's Bagels on Telegraph and Durant avenues, leaving a trail of blood on the sidewalk, said Marty Takimoto, spokesman for the school's Residential and Student Services Programs.

The man was transported to a local hospital for medical treatment, and Berkeley police sectioned off the sidewalk next to the residence hall for about an hour to investigate.

Two people have been arrested in connection with the incident, said Berkeley police Lt. Ed Spiller.

The victim's name and the names of those arrested have not been released by the police.
