An Amtrak train traveling westbound from Sacramento to San Jose struck an unoccupied vehicle on the tracks in Oakland Tuesday evening, according to an Amtrak spokesperson.
Amtrak Capitol Corridor train 543 was traveling from Sacramento to San Jose when it struck the vehicle about three miles south of Oakland's Jack London station around 5:50 p.m., Amtrak spokesperson Vernae Graham said.
No injuries to passengers or crew were reported.
The train had minor damage and was delayed about one hour and 20 minutes. Two additional trains were also delayed as a result of the collision Tuesday, Graham said.
