Alameda police will stage a DUI checkpoint Saturday night as part of the "Avoid the 21" annual holiday crackdown on suspected drunken drivers.
The location of the checkpoint was not disclosed. The announcement follows Alameda police arresting a motorist Dec. 15 in Oakland while taking part in the anti-DUI campaign, which is named after the number of local law enforcement agencies that take part and features stepped-up patrols and checkpoints.

The 31-year-old man was driving about 60 mph in a 25-mph zone and did not stop for three red lights, police said.
