BERKELEY -- A Berkeley High School student was hospitalized Friday morning with minor injuries following a two-car crash near the school after one of the vehicles rolled over, police said.

The accident at the corner of Martin Luther King Jr. and Allston ways occurred during the morning rush hour before 9 a.m. and tied up traffic around the school, Principal Pasquale Scuderi said.

Berkeley police Lt. Kevin Schofield said one car hit another vehicle, causing it to roll over. The injured student, he said, was in the car that rolled over.

He said the investigation is ongoing and officers do not know what caused the crash. He said drugs or alcohol do not appear to be a factor.
