PLEASANTON -- More than 40,000 donated books will be on sale during the Pleasanton Library's fall sale to be held Sept. 20-22.
The Friends of the Pleasanton Public Library is organizing the sale, which will be open to members only on the Friday from 6 to 9 p.m. (memberships are available at the door for $10), and open to all from 10 a.m . to 4 p.m. Saturday, and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. On Sunday, visitors may purchase a full grocery bag of books of their choice for $7.
Hardback books will be sold for $1, paperbacks for 50 cents. There will also be videos, CDs and miscellaneous items for sale.
The non-profit Friends group uses all funds raised to support the purchase of new library equipment and reading material. It is also seeking the help of adult volunteers to help set up the sale and work some sale hours.
