Friday, Sept. 13

  • POSSESSION -- A Napa man, 32, was arrested on Moeser Lane near Lexington Avenue when he was found in possession of an El Cerrito resident's mail. The man was later found to have methamphetamine, a meth pipe and a hypodermic needle filled with methamphetamine on his person. The man lied about his name to police, but later revealed his identity. He was taken to the Martinez Detention Facility.

  • STRONG-ARM ROBBERY -- At 5:09 p.m. a pedestrian was approached from behind at Carlson Boulevard and San Diego Street and put in a choke hold by a male juvenile who grabbed the victim's necklace and fled southbound. The next day officers identified a suspect, contacted the parents of the 16-year-old and arranged for his surrender. He was taken to Juvenile Hall in Martinez.

  • DUI -- During a traffic stop at Cutting Boulevard and San Pablo Avenue a 24-year-old San Pablo man was arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol.

  • AUTO BURGLARY -- Between 5 and 5:20 p.m. a door lock was removed from a 2002 Ford Econoline Van in the parking lot at Nations on Central Avenue and $5,000 in carpet installing tools were stolen.

    Saturday, Sept. 14

  • GRAND THEFT -- A man who won money from a coin-pushing machine at 10560 San Pablo Ave. was robbed after leaving the business.

  • HIT-AND-RUN -- Officers responding to a reported hit-and-run involving a dark colored vehicle in the 1100 block of King Drive found damage to a front yard and an abandoned BMW nearby on King Court. A search failed to turn up suspects. The vehicle was impounded until ownership can be determined.

  • DUI -- A 44-year-old Oakland man was arrested at Central and Jacuzzi avenues for driving under the influence of alcohol.

    Sunday, Sept. 15

  • WARRANT -- A 67-year-old man with a warrant for his arrest from El Cerrito was cited at 1919 Cutting Blvd.

  • BRASS KNUCKLES/SUSPENDED LICENSE -- A 26-year-old man was arrested at 11299 San Pablo Ave. for driving on a suspended driver license and possession of brass knuckles.

  • BATTERY, HATE CRIME -- A group confronted a man in the outdoor patio area of Safeway, telling him his dog was ugly. In the ensuing argument they made statements "directed at the victim's perceived gender identity" and threw rocks, hitting him three times. The group fled before police arrived.

  • POSSESSION -- During a traffic stop at San Pablo Avenue and Moeser Lane a narcotics search by K-9 Koda alerted officers to an area of the vehicle where marijuana, methamphetamine and prescription pills were found. Officers arrested a 50-year-old San Pablo man and released him pending lab results.

  • POSSESSION -- Officers checking an unoccupied vehicle blocking the sidewalk at San Pablo Avenue and Moeser Lane and located a baggie of methamphetamine in plain view on the driver's seat. Officers waited and saw two subjects jump in to the vehicle. They arrested a 50-year-old El Sobrante woman for possession of methamphetamine and released her after booking, pending lab results.

  • PROWLING -- At 12:30 a.m. a resident in the 2600 block of Carquinez Avenue heard a vehicle pull up and looked outside to see a man in his side yard, then on the front porch. The resident confronted the man, who claimed he was checking out houses for sale. The man fled in a dark colored older model van after a short argument with the resident.

    Monday, Sept. 16

  • RECORDING -- At 11:13 a.m. a report was received from people who had rented a room at a residence in the 700 block of Ashbury Avenue to a 28-year-old man. One of the victims noticed a clock on a shelf above the toilet and inspected it, finding a concealed camera that accepted a micro SD card. The victim removed the SD card, which contained videos of the suspect setting up the camera and the victim finding it. Detectives took the man to the Martinez Detention Facility and are investigating.

  • PETTY THEFT -- A 51-year-old Richmond man was arrested on suspicion of stealing two bottles of laundry detergent at Safeway.

    Tuesday, Sept. 17

  • HIT-AND-RUN -- Five officers responded to a hit-and-run report at 8:16 p.m. A 72-year-old El Cerrito woman walking her dog in the crosswalk on Carlson Boulevard was struck by a pickup truck. A witness followed the vehicle as it fled south on Carlson toward San Pablo Avenue, located it in Albany and told the driver to return to the scene of the collision. The 52-year-old Richmond man returned to the scene and was arrested. The woman was flown to John Muir Medical Center in Walnut Creek.

    Tuesday, Sept. 18

  • STOLEN VEHICLE -- A 2001 Honda Odyssey was stolen between noon and 1 p.m. in the 700 block of Colusa Avenue.

  • WARRANT -- A 24-year-old Richmond woman who had an outstanding arrest warrant for from Oakland was recognized and taken into custody at Denny's Restaurant on San Pablo Avenue.

  • ENFORCEMENT -- Two El Cerrito officers assisted officers Richmond police and the state Bureau of Alcohol Beverage Control in conducting inspections of licensed alcoholic beverage retailers and a clerk working at a store in the 11200 block of San Pablo Avenue was cited for the sale of alcohol to a minor.

    Wednesday, Sept. 19

  • DUI -- During a traffic stop at San Pablo and Stockton avenues a 59-year-old Antioch woman was arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol.

  • THEFT -- A 50-year-old transient man was arrested for the theft of $28 worth of food at the Lucky store at El Cerrito Plaza.

  • WARRANT -- A Richmond man, 40, was arrested at 11555 San Pablo Ave. on an outstanding warrant.

    Thursday, Sept. 20

  • DUI, POSSESSION -- A Berkeley woman, 34, was arrested during a 2. m. stop at San Pablo Avenue and Carlson Boulevard for driving under the influence of alcohol. During booking a small amount of suspected cocaine was found in her purse.
