monday, sept. 23

  • 8:04 p.m. -- Grand Avenue. A woman told police that someone broke into her vehicle while it was parked across from Ace Hardware, smashing a window and stealing her purse from the trunk. It happened sometime between 7 and 7:45 p.m. The victim later told police that she received a call from a woman who said she had found the purse, and that she would be dropping it off at the police station.

    tuesday, sept. 24

  • 9:15 a.m. -- Fairview Avenue. Someone stole a stroller off a front porch, and shortly after reporting the theft the victim discovered possibly the same stroller for sale on Craigslist, police said. The theft occurred sometime after 10 p.m. Monday.

  • 12:03 p.m. -- Pacific Avenue. A caller reported a hit-and-run that may have occurred sometime the previous night. But the caller also said the vehicle damage may be older and did not wish a report.

  • 10:39 a.m. -- Scenic Avenue. A hit-and-run was reported, police said.

    wednesday, sept. 25

  • 12:48 a.m. -- Fairmont and Santa Clara avenues. Police arrested an individual on suspicion of a narcotics offense.

  • 6:12 p.m. -- Caperton Avenue. A resident told police that someone attempted to open a credit account in his name.

    thursday, sept. 26

  • 7:14 p.m. -- Park Boulevard. Animal Control was notified of an injured deer in the neighborhood.

    friday, sept. 27

  • 1:11 p.m. -- Maxwelton Road. A noninjury traffic accident was reported.

  • 3:33 p.m. -- Mountain Boulevard. A burglary was reported.

    saturday, sept. 28

  • 3:14 p.m. -- Grand Avenue. An officer walked through a residence with a homeowner after a witness reported noticing a man acting suspiciously at the property, including walking up and down the front steps and looking into windows. The home appeared secure, police said.

    sunday, sept. 29

  • 2:15 a.m. -- Grand Avenue. Police arrested a motorist on suspicion of DUI.

  • 10:32 p.m. -- Manor Drive. A possible prowler was reported, police said.

  • 11:49 p.m. -- Grand Avenue. Police arrested a motorist on suspicion of DUI.
