LIVERMORE -- Eager runners filled Independence Park on Saturday morning, as they readied themselves for the annual Run for the Flagpole.

Runners got to choose between a half-marathon and 5K and 10K runs as well as a 1-mile fun run.

The Veterans Day weekend event got off to an 8:30 a.m. start and began and ended at the park.

All proceeds from the run go to the Livermore-Granada Boosters scholarship program. For more information, visit www.livermoregranadaboosters.org.
