A motorist pulled over for having false registration tabs on his license plate was arrested after police allegedly found suspected cocaine, methamphetamine and marijuana in his vehicle's center console.

The 41-year-old man, who was arrested at 9:45 p.m. on Jan. 25 in the 2700 block of Tilden Way, was also driving with a suspended license, police said.

The arrest occurred after another traffic stop at Eighth Street and Central Avenue led to the arrest of a woman on narcotics violations.

The woman, 27, who was arrested about 12:10 a.m., was accused of possessing marijuana and methamphetamine packaged for sale, a "shaved" key and a glass narcotics pipe.

THURSDAY, JAN. 23

  • MARIJUANA POSSESSION -- Police arrested a man, 21, on suspicion of possessing less than one ounce of marijuana following a traffic stop about 12:10 a.m. at Eighth Street and Central Avenue.

  • OUTSTANDING WARRANT -- A 24-year-old man wanted on an outstanding felony warrant, plus on another warrant for failing to make a court date, was arrested about 3:30 a.m. at his residence in the 2500 block of Lincoln Avenue. The man was booked at Santa Rita Jail. Alameda officers also served a felony warrant on 162nd Avenue in San Leandro, where they took a man, 27, into custody. It occurred about 10:50 a.m.

  • CHILD ENDANGERMENT -- A 30-year-old man who allegedly assaulted a minor at Webster Street and Lincoln Avenue was arrested after 4 p.m. After according the youth of being a gang member, the man grabbed the victim by the neck and attempted to punch him before fleeing, police said. The man was arrested on suspicion of public intoxication and faces other charges, including resisting or obstructing police.

  • BURGLARY -- Residential burglary was reported just before 6 p.m. in the 400 block of Whitehall Road.

    FRIDAY, JAN. 24

  • VEHICLE THEFT -- Vehicles were reported stolen just after 8 a.m. in the 300 block of Central Avenue and less than an hour later in the 1400 block of Fernside Boulevard. Other vehicles were reported stolen 12:10 p.m. in the 800 block of Lincoln Avenue; about 12:35 p.m. in the 1300 block of Third Street; and at 1:10 p.m. in the 700 block of Eagle Avenue. Newark police recovered a vehicle that was reported stolen at 4:10 p.m. in the 600 block of Haight Avenue, while Alameda police recovered a vehicle stolen in Oakland in about 1:05 p.m. in the 1300 block of Ballena Boulevard.

  • PETTY THEFT -- Security guards at Kohl's at Alameda South Shore Center placed a woman, 63, under citizen's arrest after she allegedly shoplifted merchandise. Police took the woman, who faces a petty theft charge, into custody at 3:55 p.m.

  • OUTSTANDING WARRANT -- A 53-year-old cyclist who was pulled over for a traffic violation was arrested after a background check revealed that he was wanted on an outstanding felony warrant for vehicle theft. The arrest occurred about 7:30 p.m. in the 1300 block of Pacific Avenue.

  • DRUG POSSESSION -- Police arrested two men after contacting as suspicious persons about 11:15 p.m. in a parking lot in the 2400 block of Central Avenue. One man, 51, was wanted on an outstanding misdemeanor warrant. His 64-year-old companion, a convicted felon, was in possession of a stun gun, suspected methamphetamine and prescription medication without a prescription.

    SATURDAY, JAN. 25

  • RECOVERED STOLEN VEHICLE -- Police recovered a vehicle stolen in Oakland about 12:45 p.m. in the 1200 block of Santa Clara Avenue.

  • MARIJUANA POSSESSION -- Police arrested a man, 33, just after 2 p.m. after he was allegedly found in possession of less than one ounce of marijuana during a traffic stop in the 1300 block of Broadway. Another traffic stop at 11:05 p.m. led to the arrest of a 40-year-old cyclist after he was found with marijuana during a traffic stop in the 500 block of Pacific Avenue. The man, who was detained for a light violation, was also carrying suspected methamphetamine and a pipe for smoking the substance, plus he was wanted on an outstanding misdemeanor warrant, police said.

    SUNDAY, JAN. 26

  • DRUNKEN DRIVING -- A man who officers found standing near his vehicle as it obstructed traffic at Oak Street and Santa Clara Avenue and with its engine running was arrested on suspicion of drunken driving, police said. The 36-year-old man, who was arrested about 12:40 a.m., allegedly admitted driving the vehicle and failed field sobriety tests before he was arrested. A woman, 33, was arrested on suspicion of the same offense about 6:50 p.m. at Main Street and Ralph Appezzato Memorial Parkway, where she was involved in a traffic collision.

  • RECOVERED STOLEN VEHICLE -- Police recovered a vehicle stolen in Oakland in the 600 block of Taylor Avenue just before 11 p.m.

  • BURGLARY -- Someone broke into the La Penca Azul restaurant on Park Street by breaking the glass of the front door of its taco bar and then attempted to steal a cash register, police said. It was reported at 5:10 a.m. Commercial burglaries were also reported about 7:30 a.m. in the 1900 block of Broadway, where a thief used a stone to break a window and stole two cash registers, and at 7:45 a.m. in the 2300 block of Central Avenue, where someone broke a glass door. It was unclear, however, whether anyone entered the building, police said.
