Happy Valentine's Day! All the animals in the shelter send you a whole lot of their unconditional love on this special day. Friends of the Alameda Animal Shelter wants to share their love with you Friday by offering free adoptions all day. (All adoption policies apply). The shelter at 1590 Fortmann Way in Alameda is open from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. A few of our animals wanted to tell you a little about themselves and why they think you should adopt them.
"If you're looking for a little lovepup, I'm your gal. My name is LACEY, and my big soft brown eyes want to stare into yours all day long. I'm a sensitive little girl who loves quiet moments, good treats and adoring humans. Can we snuggle up together on a couch sometime real soon?"
"FIGARO is my name, and love is my game. I'm a very handsome fluffy black feline with a most distinguished tail. I love laps, pets on the head and playing with toys. I can be a bit reserved with you, but that's only because I want to make sure you are my forever human. I've been jilted in the love game before, and my heart can't take being abandoned a second time."
"Perhaps you'd like to come hug me? I'm JOY, and I'm a soft lovable rabbit who loves vegetables, people and just hoppin' around. I think I'm at my best when being cuddled and gently hugged. If you added a little lullaby while cuddling me, that would be over-the-top wonderful."
