Hornets lose NCS soccer quarterfinal

Bonta was one of three Hornets who scored in a penalty shootout, but College Park won the shootout 5-3 to advance to the semifinals. The game was tied at one at the end of regulation, as Alameda's Sara Jo Ciapponi scored off an assist by Amani Webber-Schultz at the 77th minute to knot the score. After a scoreless 20 minutes of overtime, Alameda's Bonta, Hanna Pourcyrous and Madison Willcox all produced goals in the penalty shootout. Alameda, the No. 12 seed which upset No. 5 seed Amador Valley 3-1 in the first round on Feb. 19, finished with a record of 14-7-3.
