Sunday through April 12 is National Volunteer Week, and Friends of the Alameda Animal Shelter is deeply thankful to the more than 100 volunteers who work side-by-side with staff to help Alameda's stray and abandoned pets.
We could not care for the more than 1,000 animals that come through our doors each year if we did not have wonderful, dedicated and passionate volunteers. They walk dogs, socialize cats, help with events to raise money and awareness, work in the office, keep the shelter safe and clean and pitch in wherever needed. Others foster young puppies and kittens or fragile animals needing a home environment to stay in while waiting for a new permanent home.
FAAS salutes and thanks its wonderful volunteer corps for their commitment to helping Alameda's homeless pets. If you or someone you know is interested in volunteering, please email firstname.lastname@example.org or visit the FAAS website www.AlamedaAnimalShelter.org/volunteer for information.
