The abandoned cats at Friends of the Alameda Animal Shelter have some beautiful new kennels to call their temporary home. Thanks to a very generous grant from the Thornton S. Glide Jr. and Katrina D. Glide Foundation, we have been able to replace the smaller cat kennels in our main adoption room with much larger and more spacious ones. Come by and visit the cats and see their new spacious abodes.

In honor of our new kennels our April promotion is Black Cat Fridays! We have many friendly, adorable black cats available. Black Cat Friday adoption fees are only $21. Come visit with ROLY POLY, BATMAN, WALT, SWEET PEA, MAX and others. All pets adopted at FAAS have been health- and behavior-screened, vaccinated, microchipped, spayed/neutered and are well socialized.

KITTEN FOSTER RECRUITMENT: Want to learn more about becoming a kitten foster owner for FAAS? At 4 p.m. Sunday, we will hold an informational meeting for folks interested in becoming kitten foster owners. We will teach you what it takes to feed and care for the most vulnerable animals in our care. Come join the team that helped nearly 500 kittens grow, thrive and find homes in the last two years. Please RSVP to 510-337-8575 or volunteer.faas@gmail.com.
